"I Enjoyed Learning From The Best"

On 18 November 2019, award-winning journalist and alumna Hala Gorani was the Sciences Po American Foundation’s special guest for its 10th Anniversary Gala in New York, along with honoree Nicolas Sarkozy, former French President.

Born in the United States to Syrian parents, Gorani spent a lot of time in Paris, and began her journalistic career in France at La Voix du Nord. Today, she is the host of Hala Gorani Tonight on CNN, where she has had a storied career with international acclaim. Gorani graduated from Sciences Po in 1995 where she studied journalism, and has since observed the profession change with a keen eye, interviewing numerous world leaders and personalities and covering major conflicts along the way. In this video, she looks back on her time at Sciences Po and shares insights from her career as a journalist as well as the evolution of global politics over the last two decades.
