Learning on Site at the Urban School
What if getting out into the world was the best way to learn about the economic, social, environmental and cultural issues at stake in a specific area and meet the players involved?
The Urban School at Sciences Po prepares students and professionals for urban governance in all its forms. Graduates find employment in the public, private and non-profit sectors at the local, national and international levels.
Students first go out on site to carry on their Group Project. This project, which lasts between 5 and 9 months (depending on their master's), immerses students in a real local issue proposed by a public, private or voluntary organisation. Supervised by an academic or professional tutor, students work in teams to design, implement, and evaluate public policies, or to support complex urban projects.
This immersion in the field does not stop there: each Master's degree also includes a study trip, enabling students to discover the economic, social, and environmental dynamics of an area.
