An innovative programme for African leaders

The LeAD Campus: Global Leaders for Africa’s Development programme was launched on 13 November 2015 at Sciences Po. This programme aims to help current and future African leaders develop their skills and projects so they can maximise their contribution to sustainable, inclusive growth across the continent.

  • Collaboration between French and African institutions to build an innovative programme

The LeAD Campus programme is led by African and French businesses and corporations, and built by four African and French institutions: Sciences Po (France), the Higher Institute of Management in Dakar (Senegal), the Graduate School of Development Policy and Practice (GSDPP) of the University of Cape Town (South Africa) and the CEFEB, the corporate university of the French Development Agency (AFD). Throughout the programme, participants are mentored by an expert with extensive experience in business in Africa.

  • A certificate programme designed for African leaders

The five-month certificate programme is designed for leaders from the private sector – entrepreneurs, SME directors, top executives from local and multinational corporations, etc. – and managers from the public, non-profit and civil society sectors – public administrators, economic policy officers and NGO managers.
This French-English bilingual programme revolves around three key factors in the African growth and development equation: business, leadership and social challenges. The training sessions take place in South Africa, Senegal and France.
