QuINTessence: The 2024 Integration Festival by Sciences Po SU

How can we best welcome new students at Sciences Po?

To start the academic year smoothly and united, the Bureau des Élèves (BDE, Sciences Po student union) launched QuINTessence, its 2024 welcome festival designed to showcase the essence of the student experience.

The event took place on the Paris campus and featured a day of concerts, workshops, and activities centred around the theme of the five senses, in partnership with student associations.

Among the activities offered:

  • The Olfactory ExSPErience by Sciences Po Environement (environment association): Games around different aromatic plants and a gardening workshop in the 1 Saint-Thomas garden,
  • The creative workshop "Draw me a tote bag" by the Bureau des Arts (arts association),
  • The ParASlympics by the Association Sportive (sports association): Mini sports games, a quiz on the Paralympic Games, and tickets to the Paralympic Games to be won,
  • The international student welcome: "The world at your fingertips" by the BDE,
  • The flower and sponsorship stand for bachelor students "Qu'INTEssence florale" by the BDE Care team,
  • The mini public speaking games "Comme un air de rentrée" and speeches by three duos in English and French on the theme of inclusion, by Sciences Polémiques (eloquence association),
  • The "Sciences Po & You Quiz" by the BDE,
  • The jazz dance and music show by Art’Core (dance association), featuring student musicians,
  • The concert by Les Trompettes du 27 (association of trumpet players),
  • The concert by Alice You-Seen, a master's student,
  • Classic rock covers by the band Turn the Tide, with Sciences Concert (music association),
  • The DJ set by Pippo Auge, a gap year student.
