Salomé Zourabichvili, alumna and President

Graduate of the class of 1972, professor at Sciences Po from 2006-2015, Salomé Zourabichvili is, as of 28 November, 2018, the first female president of Georgia. But she is also one of very few female alumna who is now a Head of State. Returning to her alma mater to give a lecture on the 18th February 2019, we look back at the path of a quiet but promising student.

Patrick Le Galès, CNRS research director at Sciences Po’s Center for European Studies and Comparative Politics (CEE), dean of the Urban School and Fellow at the British Academy, has just received the prestigious CNRS silver medal. The distinction recognizes the quality of his research in political science and sociology, as well as his participation in the creation of the CEE, a leading laboratory for the social sciences in Europe, and the creation of Sciences Po’s Urban School three years ago.

After two years studying on the Reims campus, Lukas Noah Drammeh travelled to the United States where he is currently spending his third year at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Not only is this giving him the opportunity to further his knowledge of sociology and African-American studies, he's also achieving a long-standing dream: to join a well-known basketball team and play a season on American soil.
