“Sisters of Arms”

Screening (in English) of the movie “Sisters of Arms” directed by Caroline Fourest, followed by a discussion (in English) on gender-based violence in war zones, with:

• Dr Nazand Begikhani, Senior Research Fellow at the University of Bristol, Vincent Wright Chair (2019/20), Visiting Professor at Sciences Po.

The film depicts women in war, both as survivors of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) as well as as combatants fighting extremism and ISIS jihadists. It is about feminist solidarity and resistance strategies across boundaries, contextualized in the Middle East and Kurdish regions.
