History & Digital Technology workshop/seminar

The History & Digital Technology seminar is intended to offer Sciences Po’s history teaching and research community a forum to discuss how technology is transforming our practices. A mixture of lectures and workshops is used to familiarise participants with, and provide guidance on:

  • the legal and technical issues involved in the collection, conservation, and use of archival and historical data;*
  • the possibilities that the Contemporary History Archives service offers for both research and teaching;*
  • designing and conducting research that includes a quantitative and/or digital dimension.

Over four to six sessions per year, combining external contributions and presentations of in-house CHSP projects, participants will engage in collective thinking about what it means, in practical terms, to “do history in the digital age”.
