Biographie

Romain Fathi est Senior Lecturer à l'Université de Flinders (Australie) et chercheur associé au Centre d'histoire de Sciences Po, à Paris. Il est diplômé de Sciences Po (il a grandi en France) et vit maintenant en Australie. A partir de 2024, il sera Senior Lecturer à l’Australian National University (ANU) à Canberra en tant que membre de la faculté permanente. Il dirige également des recherches doctorales.

Romain Fathi travaille sur la dimension transnationale de la guerre et de ses conséquences, que ce soit dans le contexte européen ou australien. Ses recherches portent également sur l’humanitaire et la Croix-Rouge. Ses travaux ont été primés à plusieurs reprises.

Ses recherches s'orientent depuis son dernier ouvrage, Our Corner of the Somme (Cambridge University Press), sur la manipulation des restes humains pendant et après la Première Guerre mondiale.

Il est l'un des principaux chercheurs du groupe Resilient Humanitarianism (DP 190101171), projet financé par Australian Research Council (2019-2024).

Romain Fathi publie en français comme en anglais. Il a enseigné dans plusieurs universités en France (Sciences Po) et à l'étranger (Yale aux États-Unis et l'Université du Queensland en Australie).
