Call for submissions for the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit

Section #context

Context

The Summit for Action on Artificial Intelligence will be held in Paris on 10 and 11 February 2025. Organized by the Presidency of the French Republic, it will bring together Heads of State, experts, companies and civil society representatives to discuss the impact of AI on different sectors of society. The Summit will concentrate on “concrete actions to ensure that the global AI sector can drive beneficial social, economic and environmental outcomes in the public interest.”

The Summit will focus on five key themes:

  1. Public interest AI
  2. The impact of AI on the future of work
  3. Innovation and culture: technological innovation and its social benefits
  4. Trust in AI
  5. Global governance of AI

In this context, Sciences Po's Open Institute for Digital Transformations, created as part of TIERED, together with the Undergraduate College and the Graduate Schools, proposes to showcase the coursework of Sciences Po students from all programs, disciplines, and professional approaches on these themes, in order to contribute our institution’s perspectives to the Summit’s reflections.

The objective is to ensure that the voice of young people is heard in a constructive and critical way on the subject of AI, which will shape their future, before, during and after the Summit, through a number of events and actions.

Section #Call for submissions

Call for submissions

To this end, this call for submissions concerns all Sciences Po students, from all schools and programmes, who have carried out coursework in various formats, in connection with one or more of the themes of the AI Action Summit.

This call for submissions is open to students interested in sharing the results or reflections of their coursework, in order to address, through the intersection of their disciplinary or professional approaches, the challenges of one or more of the Summit's themes. Proposals will be selected on the basis of their academic quality and their potential link to one or more of the Summit’s themes.

A conference will be held at Sciences Po in mid-February 2025, during which students whose work has been selected will be invited to discuss their work with a Sciences Po researcher. The discussion will have an educational purpose for both the public and Summit participants. The event will be widely publicized, in particular among Summit organizers.

An “AI Summit” issue of Sciences Po's new review showcasing student work will also be published and distributed in early March 2025. Relevant work that could not be selected for the conference may also be featured in this review.
