Sciences Po is delighted to welcome Eamon Ryan, former Irish Minister for the Environment and an international pioneer in green politics.
During the conversation on the theme of "Bridging the 3 main climate divides", Ryan will explore the urgent need to unite ecological, economic, and social priorities in the face of climate change.

Eamon Ryan is a leader in Irish environmentalism and a tireless advocate for climate action.

Ryan was elected to Dáil Éireann in 2002 with the Green Party and became a central figure in Ireland’s environmental policy.  He defended, as Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and green technology. Foundational work has been done by Ryan for Ireland’s transition to a low-carbon future.

Ryan took charge as leader of the Green Party in 2021 bringing climate issues to the forefront of national policy. From 2020 to 2025, he was a Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, and Minister for Transport, leading transformations in public transport and emissions reduction.

This event highlights Sciences Po attentiveness to environmental issues, epitomized by the creation in 2023 of Institute for Environmental Transformation and Sciences Po’s ambition to establish a School for the Climate.

The conversation will be held in English.
