Health Chair

Health and healthcare are increasingly central to the economic and social spheres, as well as to public policy. A multidisciplinary approach is crucial to understanding the profound changes and unprecedented challenges affecting the health sector. Multidisciplinarity therefore informs each of the missions of the Health Chair, created in 2006.

Four main missions

  • To encourage thinking and debate on health issues, by allowing all stakeholders in the health system to meet and communicate freely
  • To stimulate research and the creation and dissemination of a body of multidisciplinary health literature (in economics, law, history, sociology, and political science) that can lead to a more comprehensive understanding of the health system
  • To diversify degree and continuing education programmes, by incorporating the Chair’s research into teaching and by training professionals who can take an active part in the development and implementation of health policies and initiatives
  • To build partnerships in the academic sphere, in France and internationally, but also with national and local authorities, non-profit organisations, and businesses.
