PSIA Dean meet with Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President for Technology and Fundamental Rights
In November, on the sidelines of the Paris Peace Forum, PSIA dean Arancha Gonzalez Laya met with Teresa Hutson, Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President for Technology and Fundamental Rights.
Microsoft is supporting the activities of the Technology and Global Affairs Innovation Hub, a collaboration advancing the intersection of technology and governance, especially in the digital field.
This year, the partnership started with the delivery of significant projects and events, including a joint side event to the 7th edition of the Paris Peace Forum and “on the road to the AI Action Summit” organized at SciencesPo, as well as an open consultation on disinformation across four different European countries, and several workshops part of the “AI Governance Dialogue” from April to November.
During the second AI Dialogue, in June, the Hub welcomed Natasha Crampton, Chief Responsible AI Officer at Microsoft, for a critical "Chatham House" discussion on ethical and regulatory dimensions of artificial intelligence with experts from the academic community, national and international institutions, and civil society organizations. Key topics included bias mitigation, accountability, and transparency—essential to ensuring AI serves the public interest.
The support brought to the Hub allows it to organize event and publish resources bridging academia and industry to address global challenges, fostering actionable solutions for responsible technology governance. This shared commitment to innovation and inclusion contributes to interdisciplinary and multistakeholder governance, inspiring thought leadership, and the training of the next generation of decisionmakers.
