Celebrating a Year of Innovation: PSIA's Tech & Global Affairs Hub Releases Inaugural Report

It is with great pride that we announce the publication of the first annual activity report for PSIA's Technology and Global Affairs Innovation Hub. Launched in January 2024 under the leadership of Dean Arancha Gonzalez and Constance de Leusse, the Hub has rapidly established itself as a catalyst for inclusive, international governance of emerging technologies, bringing together decision-makers, industry leaders, civil society organizations, and the academic community to address the defining challenges of our time.

In this transformative inaugural year, the Hub has made remarkable strides across its three strategic pillars. We have driven collaboration through more than 20 high-impact events gathering hundreds of participants, including official side-events to major diplomatic convenings such as the Paris Peace Forum and the AI Action Summit.

The Hub's team has set up a publication program that already released several influential works —including policy briefs on digital trade challenges, AI governance strategies, and youth resilience to disinformation—with nearly a dozen more in the pipeline on critical topics such as quantum technologies, environmental impacts of AI, and space governance. 

Accelerating innovative tech policy projects and creating new capacity-building initiatives, the Hub also connected PSIA students with real-world challenges through learning expeditions, hosted professional training programs for leaders from the African Union Space Council, and amplified the voice of global citizens and civil society organizations through several public consultations dedicated to tech governance.

As we look ahead to 2025, the Hub stands ready to amplify its impact with ambitious new initiatives, including continued engagement with the AI Action Summit, expanded student programs, and boosting emerging focus areas such as space governance and environmental impacts of technologies.
