The Technology and Global Affairs Innovation Hub's mission

What is the Technology and Global Affairs Innovation Hub?

The Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA) Technology and Global Affairs Innovation Hub’s core mission is to accelerate collaborative technology and governance to address global affairs challenges focused specifically on citizenship and tech, defence and security, and tech and prosperity.

How does it work?

Viewed through the lens of geopolitics and global governance, technology reveals itself as a powerful yet challenging force. It drives innovation, improves efficiency, and enhances connectivity and human exchange at a global scale. However, it also presents fundamental concerns and ethical dilemmas for our societies, our economies, and our forms of governance and citizenship.

While the primary focus is on digital technologies, the Hub will evolve to address emerging needs of the international community. Going forward, it aims to intersect with  global issues, such as exploring Climate and Health Technologies. A cross-disciplinary program on Responsible Tech Innovation aims to investigate the potential of emerging technologies for positive impact on our democratic societies. Special attention is directed towards decentralized technologies, as well as the development and steering of international standards for responsible technologies to enhance security, foster social prosperity and achieve other global goals.

The Hub aims to help current leaders to better understand the arising dilemmas on technology and global affairs, and provide an additional platform to the Master in Technology and Global Affairs in training future leaders. It operates with a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration and impact, involving  stakeholders from both the public and private sectors.

The Hub works in close collaboration with a network of experts and researchers recognized for the quality of their work.
