Aghiad Ghanem

Aghiad Ghanem holds a PhD and a master degree in Political Science and International Relations from Sciences Po Paris.

Aghiad’s research has focused on identity groups and transnational relations in the context of the Syrian war since 2011. It mostly relies on fieldwork carried out in Syria, Turkey, and Lebanon. He is the author of several scientific articles and book chapters on Alawite groups and identities in the Middle East.

Aghiad has taught a range of courses in International Relations and Development at Sciences Po Paris, Paris Dauphine University and École normale supérieure (PSL). He previously worked as a teaching and research fellow at Sciences Po’s Centre for International Studies (CERI). He was also an associate researcher to the French Institute of Anatolian Studies (IFEA).
