Research Track
The Research Track is intended for students who are interested in a potential career with a research focus, whether in academia or in the public or private sector. It helps to enhance applications for PhD Programs, including for a PhD at Sciences Po School of Research.

Students admitted in this selective track will benefit from a stronger methodological training and have a full year to write their Master's thesis, under the supervision of a member of Sciences Po permanent faculty.
Who can apply?
Applications are open to all first-year students. (NB: Dual Degree students and students currently on a gap year are not eligible)

You are applying to a new research track of PSIA, in partnership with the School of Research.
How will we decide?
Admission will be selective and based on the quality of individual research projects, compatibility with Sciences Po permanent faculty research interests, and your grades.
Timeline
- Declaration of intent during Semester 1. Submit your Bachelor transcripts and motivation letter. Please note:
- You must have taken the Methods Concentration in Semester 1. Waivers cannot apply for this track.
- You must have validated your Quantitative Skills course (or obtained a Skills waiver) in Semester 1.
- Your motivation letter must include your research interests
- January : Inter-semester short courses.
- Submission of your Research Proposal by March (same process as for the general Master’s Thesis Track)
- Summer course in qualitative methods in May.
- Selection and Final Admission into the Research Track in Semester 2.
