The European Green Deal is the European Union’s flagship strategy to turn Europe into the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. As the European Commission notes, it will “transform the EU into a modern, resource-efficient and competitive economy, ensuring:
- no net emissions of greenhouse gases by 2050;
- economic growth decoupled from resource use;
- no person and no place left behind“.

This ambition implies redefining policies for many areas and sectors– from energy to agriculture – and it necessitates devising policies to manage these transformations.
The downside of such a comprehensive strategy? The overview might get lost.
