Laurent Fabius is currently the French Minister of Foreign Affairs. He has held many high level positions in government, including that of Prime Minister (1984-1986), Minister of Industry and Research (1984), Minister of Finance (2000-2002), President of the National Assembly (1988-1992 and 1997-2000) and National Deputy for the Socialist Party since 1978. Minister Fabius is a graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) and the National School of Public Administration (ENA). The author of six books, he is a specialist in economic and financial issues, European affairs and international relations, as well as paintings and sculpture.
