A dialogue with Israeli and Palestinian activists on common challenges and struggles
About this event
17 March 2025 from 17:30 until 19:00
Jacques Chapsal Amphitheatre
27 rue Saint-Guillaume, 75007, ParisPSIA is delighted to host three emblematic leaders of the human rights movement in both Israel and Palestine for an exceptional conference on their common challenges and struggles.
While the situation in Gaza and the West Bank is critical on all fronts, the actions of the current far-right Israeli government is raising questions about fundamental rights. Civil societies on both sides of the West Bank wall are standing up to ongoing violations of international law and human rights. More than ever, the voice of Israeli and Palestinian civil society organizations must be heard.
B'Tselem, Al-Haq, and the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) - all members of the International Federation for Human Rights - have been documenting and advocating against human rights violations in Israel and Palestine for many years. Together, their leaders will discuss the unprecedented threats faced by their organizations, the central role of justice and the fight against impunity in their struggle, as well as the prospects presented by the current situation.
With:
- Yuli Novak, General Director of the Israeli organization B'Tselem, based in Jerusalem
- Raji Sourani, Palestinian lawyer, founder and director of the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) based in Gaza
- Shawan Jabarin, Director of the Palestinian organization Al-Haq, based in Ramallah
Introduction by Antoine Bernard, Director, Advocacy & Assistance, Reporters Sans Frontières and PSIA Faculty.
Moderation by Benjamin Barthe, Deputy Head of the International Service at Le Monde.
