Artificial Intelligence and its implications for the information and communication space

About this event

28 February 2024 from 18:00 until 20:00

Online

Organized by

Paris School of International Affairs; Forum on Information and Democracy

The development and advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) continue to transform the global information and communication space at an unprecedented pace.

The Forum on Information and Democracy believes democratic institutions must establish principles and rules to govern the development, deployment and use of all aspects of AI in the information space. The Forum established an international Policy Working Group led by 14 diverse experts to elaborate recommendations to safeguard our democratic information space.

This event will start with a presentation of the key recommendations from partner institutions in five countries: Brazil, France, Italy, South Africa and USA.

A panel discussion on “Regulations and Ethics: Which role for international governance” will follow, featuring:

  • Gabriela Ramos, Assistant Director-General for Social and Human Sciences of UNESCO and member of the Forum's Working Group
  • Christophe Deloire, Secretary-General of Reporters without Borders and Chair of the Forum

The panel discussion will be moderated by Constance de Leusse, Executive Director of PSIA's new Tech and Global Affairs Innovation Lab.

The event will be fully available online to the general public (please make sure to register to receive the connection link).

This event is co-organized by the Tech and Global Affairs Innovation Lab at Paris School of International Affairs and the Forum on Information and Democracy.
