>The Global Terrorism Index provides a comprehensive summary of key trends and patterns of terrorism and analyses the impact of terrorism in 163 countries. The Index is produced by the Institute for Economics & Peace (IEP) and is based on data from the Global Terrorism Database, the leading global dataset on terrorist activity.
Serge Stroobants, IEP's Director Europe & MENA, will present the GTI. A discussion with the audience will follow moderated by Christina Schori Liang.

Serge Stroobants
Director Europe & MENA, Institute for Economic & Peace
Serge Stroobants is a specialist of global terrorism and radicalization. He regularly intervenes in conference and media on these topics. He served as an expert on the Parliamentary Commissions on the impact of terrorism in France after the Paris attacks on 13 November 2015 and in Belgium after the Brussels attacks on 22 March 2016. He is involved in the support of the victims of terrorist acts.
Mr Stroobants is a visiting Professor at the Riga graduate School of Law, the Trocadero Forum Institute in Paris, Blanquerna University in Barcelona, and the Brussels School of Governance. He founded and directs BANTS Consulting in strategic security focusing on OSINT and Cybersecurity. He is a former staff officer of the Belgian Army.

Dr Christina Schori Liang offers training and strategic policy guidance for governments and security actors worldwide including the European Union, NATO, the OSCE and the United Nations. She is the editor of Europe for the Europeans: The Foreign and Security Policy of the Populist Radical Right and section editor of Springer Verlag’s 2022 Handbook of Security Science. Dr Liang is an expert for the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organised Crime and an advisory board member for Cyberwatch Finland. She holds a PhD and an MA from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva, Switzerland.
