About this event

PSIA and AFD present:

Reaching Sustainable Development Goals: Just Transition in the Global South

>Thursday 20 May 2021  |  17:00 – 18:15 (CET)

Both the 2030 Agenda and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change recognize that the fight against climate change goes hand-in-hand with an inclusive development approach, taking into account the social impact of economic transformations. How can such just transition be implemented and financed? What does an inclusive approach imply? This panel discussion will offer contributions from experts in the fields of economics, development and climate change, with a special focus on the Global South.

A panel discussion chaired by Elisabeth Hege, Senior Research Fellow, IDDRI.

With guest speakers:

  • Carola Klöck, Researcher, Center for international studies (CERI) at Sciences Po
  • Thomas Mélonio, Executive Director of Innovation, Research, and Knowledge at AFD (Agence française de Développement)
  • Golvine de Rochambeau, Assistant Professor, Economics Department, Sciences Po
  • Aurélien Saussay, Research Fellow, Grantham Research Institute, LSE (London School of Economics)

This event is organized in partnership with AFD (Agence Française de Développement). Sciences Po and AFD partner together in research and teaching, on topics related to development.
