What skills and/or strategy helped you to succeed at PSIA?
Before starting at PSIA, I worked as a Project Manager at a marketing and events agency in Paris where I supported clients such as the OECD's Education Directorate. The experience collaborating with colleagues and meeting tight deadlines helped me at PSIA since there are several group projects and presentations. Also, I set up meetings with professors and/or teaching assistants when I needed clarification on assignments. Lastly, I consulted with Sciences Po's librarians since they are aware of resources to help guide research for papers. Plus, the library is beautiful!
What part of your PSIA experience do you think will be of greatest help in your career?
I had the pleasure of taking Hélène Périvier's "Is a Gender Equal Society Possible?" common course during my first semester which deepened my interest in social policy. The experience helped me to obtain my current position as a consultant on the World Bank's Women, Business and the Law project which measures and analyzes laws in 190 economies that impact women's economic empowerment. I also took Olivier de Schutter's Global Governance course which covered business and human rights instruments. I hope exposure to human rights due diligence will help me to advance in the ESG field.
What advice would you give to current and future PSIA students?
Academic achievement is only one measure of success - spend time forging connections with professors, classmates, and growing your professional network as well!
