NATO Model Event at PSIA
Earlier this month, PSIA was delighted to welcome members of the NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT) to the Paris campus to conduct a NATO Model Event with 64 PSIA students from the Masters in International Security and International Governance and Diplomacy.
The event consisted of a two-day decision-making simulation of two North Atlantic Council (NAC) sessions in which students acted as ambassadors and represented an assigned nation. The students covered two highly relevant topics: the Arctic region and counter-terrorism.
Prior to the event, students attended a training session with PSIA faculty Gen. Michel Yakovleff, where they gained insights into NATO and its structure. The exercise itself provided students with a practical entry point into international security. They engaged in diplomatic discussions and debates which highly resembled those that take place at NATO. The ACT team provided students with feedback on their performance and information on possible careers within the NATO structure.
PSIA is grateful to the NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT) to provide its students with this invaluable opportunity that helps develop their academic and professional skills
