Over the course of the last few days, all eyes have been turned towards Ukraine and the war being waged on the orders of Vladimir Putin. Aggression on this scale, in direct violation of international law, and the unbridled disregard for the value of human life that have been witnessed over the past few days has left many feeling at a loss, unsure of how to process the events that are unfolding on the global stage.

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Sciences Po, as a European institution of higher education, has taken a firm stand against the conflict. It has instigated and supported several initiatives in solidarity with victims.

On 24 February 2022, on the orders of President Vladimir Putin, the Russian army invaded Ukraine, instigating a high-intensity war. Despite their disproportionate military and human resources, the Ukrainian army and the broader population in Ukraine have since resisted the offensive. The list of casualties, many of which are civilian, continues to grow. Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of people are now fleeing the conflict and the material damage in Ukraine is intensifying every day.

Since the beginning of the war waged by Russia against Ukraine in violation of international law, Sciences Po has taken action to provide aid and support to those impacted by the conflict.
