In the last few weeks, the Coronavirus Covid-19 has created an unprecedented situation with, on one side, serious fears of contamination and, on the other, a great level of uncertainty.
While countries around the world have taken measures to limit the spread of the virus, many vulnerable people, including refugees and internally displaced persons (IDP) who live in camps, remain especially prone to the danger of a severe outbreak. If this happens, it will impact the whole local population. Given historical structural inequalities, women inside these communities remain particularly vulnerable.
