Accommodation close to the Paris campus

The Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris (CIUP) is unique in Paris. It offers the most student housing in the region, accommodating more than 5,800 young people. The CIUP is located in the 14th arrondissement, less than 30 minutes from Sciences Po, and the Résidence Lila (FR) of the CIUP is located in the 19th arrondissement.

Number of housing units: approximately 187 units (studios, single or shared rooms).

Rent and other expenses: the monthly rent varies according to the type and size of accommodation, from €320 to €816. A payment equivalent to one month’s rent is required to confirm the reservation. This amount is not refundable and will be used as a security deposit.

Facilities and advantages: communal kitchens on each floor, common areas: study room or library and laundry. No guarantor is necessary.

Eligibility criteria: priority is given to new international students with scholarships in Master's programmes (Emile Boutmy and Sciences Po Europe in particular) and Crous scholarship holders, admitted to the Undergraduate College through the Conventions Education Prioritaire programme.

Accommodation is assigned in priority to scholarship students, Bachelor or Masters students. (Crous, Emile Boutmy, Sciences Po Europe or any other scholarship) and are eligible for personal housing benefits

Martin Luther King Residence, Paris 17th arrondissement

The Martin Luther King CROUS (fr.) residence is in the 17th arrondissement of Paris. This residence is proposed through a partnership between Sciences Po, the Paris City Council and the Crous de Paris.

Number of housing units: 25 furnished studio flats of 19 m2.

Rent and other expenses: €416, water, heating and electricity included. A security deposit of €300 is required.

Facilities and advantages: Internet, common areas: common room and laundry.

Jourdan Residence, Paris 14th arrondissement

The Jourdan CROUS residence (FR) is located in the 14th arrondissement of Paris. This residence is proposed through a partnership between Sciences Po, the Paris City Council and the Paris Crous.

Number of housing units: 73 furnished studio flats of 21m2.

Rent and other expenses: €456, water, heating and electricity included. A security deposit of €300 is required. 

Facilities and advantages: individual furnished studio flats with Internet and common areas: common room and laundry. Students are required to apply for VISALE.

Eligibility criteria: priority is given to new CROUS scholarship students or CROUS scholarship students coming back from their third year abroad.

Alésia Residence, 14th arrondissement

The Alésia CROUS residence (FR) is in the 14th arrondissement of Paris. This residence is proposed through a partnership between Sciences Po, the Paris Crous and Université Sorbonne Paris Cité.

Number of housing units: 18 furnished accommodation (studios) for 36 shared units of 14m2.

Rent and other expenses: €351 with water, heating and electricity included. A security deposit of €300 is required.

Facilities and advantages: individual furnished studio flats with Internet and common areas: meeting rooms, rooms for cultural activities and laundry.

Eligibility criteria: only available to international students at Master’s level. Priority is given to new scholarship students (Emile Boutmy, Sciences Po Europe or any other scholarship).

Cîteaux Residence, 14th Arrondissement

The Cîteaux CROUS residence (FR) is in the 12th arrondissement of Paris. This residence is proposed through a partnership between Sciences Po, the Paris Crous and Université Sorbonne Paris Cité.

Number of housing units: 15 furnished studio flats from 14m² to 18m².

Rent and other expenses: between €339 and €411, water, heating and electricity included. A security deposit of €300 is required.

Facilities and advantages: individual furnished studio flats with Internet and common areas: meeting rooms, rooms for cultural activities and laundry.

Eligibility criteria: only available to students at Master’s level. Priority is given to new scholarship students (Emile Boutmy, Sciences Po Europe or any other scholarship, Crous Scholarship holders). 

Chevaleret residence, 13th arrondissement

The Chevaleret CROUS residence (FR) is in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. This residence is proposed through a partnership between Sciences Po, the Paris Crous and Université Sorbonne Paris Cité.

Number of housing units: 16 furnished studio flats from 16m² to 21m².

Rent and other expenses: between €333 and €446 with water, heating and electricity included. A security deposit of €300 is required.

Indochine residence, 19th arrondissement

The Indochine CROUS residence (FR) is in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. This residence is proposed through a partnership between Sciences Po, the Paris Crous and Université Sorbonne Paris Cité.

Number of housing units: 6 furnished studio flats 

Rent and other expenses: €393 with water, heating and electricity included. A security deposit of €300 is required.

Facilities and advantages: individual furnished studio flats with Internet and common areas: meeting rooms, rooms for cultural activities and laundry. Students are required to apply for VISALE (FR) or Garantme.

Eligibility criteria: only available to students at Master’s or Phd’s level. Priority is given to new scholarship students (Emile Boutmy, Sciences Po Europe or any other scholarship, Crous Scholarship holders). 

An innovative project for flat-sharing was launched in 2017. The project is run in partnership with the Paris City Council, the council of the 20th arrondissement, Paris Habitat and the association ACLEF, and is part of a broader social and urban development plan.

The project: Students must spend 4 to 5 hours a week on service projects in connection with community-based organizations in the 20th arrondissement (academic support, sustainable development awareness campaigns or community development projects).

A panel made up of representatives from Sciences Po, the council of the 20th arrondissement, the Paris City Council, Paris Habitat and ACLEF selects the successful candidates.

Number of housing units: 21 individuals or shared furnished units

Rent and other expenses: The monthly rent varies between 347 and 740 euros (average rent of 467 euros). 

Facilities and advantages: Electricity and gas are included in the charges, on-site caretaker, eligible for personal housing benefit through the French state (Caf).

Eligibility criteria: Students must demonstrate an advanced level of French (C1). The housing units are only offered to Master’s students or second year undergraduate students. 

The YouFirst Campus Paris Lecourbe Residence is in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. This residence is proposed through a partnership between Sciences Po, the Paris Crous and YouFirst Campus.

Number of housing units: 24 individual or shared furnished units

Rent and other expenses: Monthly rent varies depending on the type of unit from €471 to €788, including water, heating and electricity. A security deposit of less than one month’s rent is required. 

Facilities and advantages: individual furnished flats with Internet and common areas: common room and laundry. Students are required to apply for VISALE.

Eligibility criteria: only available to CROUS scholarship students and priority is given to Bachelor’s or Master’s students.

The Young Workers Housing Association Silly residence is located in Boulogne Billancourt, close to Paris and accessible via metro. 

The association offers its residents specific assistance with administrative procedures related to housing.

Number of housing units: 4 studio flats.

Rent and other expenses: Monthly rent varies depending on the size of accommodation from €493 to €605, including water, heating and electricity. A security deposit equivalent to approximately one month’s rent is required (the accommodation is eligible for personal housing benefits).

Facilities and advantages: individual studios with Internet and common areas: common room and laundry. No guarantor is necessary.

Allocation of housing: priority is given to first year undergraduate or Masters CROUS scholarship students. 

Who can apply?

• Students receiving Crous needs-based financial aid
• Students with a disability enrolled in a full degree programme
• International students, students receiving a scholarship from the French government or a foreign government (managed by the Crous)

How to apply?

• If you are eligible, you need to complete a student social file (Dossier Social Étudiant (fr.)) between 1st March and 31st May of each academic year to apply for Crous housing.
• If you are an international student, you will receive a Crous housing offer directly from Campus France as the holder of a French or foreign government scholarship.

The CROUS also offers a service connecting private owners with students: Lokaviz - central platform for Crous housing (fr.).

The CIUP offers double and single rooms, with or without a private bathroom. All rooms at the CIUP are furnished.

The Twenty Campus residences are located approximately 30 minutes away from  Sciences Po via public transportation.

Type of housing: studios of 19m2.

Facilities and advantages: living room, private bathroom, a telephone line allowing an Internet subscription, TV socket, communal kitchens on each floor, common areas: study room, laundry, fitness room (available for a fee). No guarantor is necessary.

Les Estudines République  is a residence in the heart of the lively 11th arrondissement of Paris, about 25 minutes from Sciences Po by public transport

Facilities: private bathroom and kitchenette, WiFi, sheets, blankets, pillows, bath towels and kitchen utensils. Breakfast room, laundry and gym.
