Student Life and Campus Contribution (CVEC)
What is CVEC?
The “Student success and orientation” law (loi “ORE”) presented by the government has established a student life and campus contribution (CVEC) of €103 per year (2024/2025 rate). This fee is due every academic year by all students enrolled in higher education studies.
This contribution is mandatory and aims to strengthen the social, health, cultural and sports support of students, as well as to reinforce prevention and health education actions carried out for them.
Subject to the situations defined below, all students registered or in the process of being enrolled, must pay this amount to the CROUS via the website: https://cvec.etudiant.gouv.fr.
Please note:
- French government scholarship holders (CROUS, Campus France), refugees, beneficiaries of subsidiary protection or who are registered as asylum seekers are exempt: however, they must complete the online procedure on the website in order to obtain an acknowledgment of payment by exemption.
- Students in exchange agreement, who undertake a period of mobility in France, are not subject to the CVEC: they have no steps to perform and are exempt from paying the contribution fee.
The CVEC web site, process, and FAQ are accessible in both French and English.

At Sciences Po
The CVEC helps financing welcome and orientation programmes, such as the Meet the Services event and student ambassadors.
It contributes to strengthen student welfare and support (participative and solidarity-based student grocery store, fight against period poverty, emergency financial aids, etc.) and to sponsor activities around health promotion and prevention, carried out by the student health representatives (ERS).
The CVEC also supports student associations’ projects and preventive medicine.
FAQ
The CVEC code is available on your CVEC confirmation of payment "attestation d'acquittement"(under “N° de l’attestation”). Once the payment is processed, you must upload the confirmation of payment in your online administrative registration and fill in your CVEC code. The document can be downloaded as many times as you want from the CVEC website.
Your personal INE number is available on your French baccalaureate transcript or on last year’s student enrolment certificate if you were studying in France.
You do not have an INE number if it is your first enrolment in the higher education in France and you come from abroad or you have not attended school in the French National Education. The Crous will provide you with a provisional number, which will be replaced by the INE number attributed by your Institution.
You must log on to the CVEC website and follow the instructions to pay your contribution by credit card online.
