Certificate of Attendance

The Summer School awards a certificate of attendance and transcript to students who complete the programme, provided they do not exceed the maximum number of absences. Please read the Academic Rules and Regulations (PDF, 165 KB) to learn about the absence policy for the programme.

Exams, Grade and Transcript

Students who meet attendance requirements will sit for exams at the conclusion of the session. Exams are held during the last days of the programme and their length varies depending on the track and course. Students who choose to sit for exams will receive a Summer School transcript with a number grade in addition to their Certificate of Attendance. Transcripts will be available mid-September. 

Failure to comply with any of the duties and obligations listed in the Summer School Academic Policies may result in the failure to complete the programme.

For students who are planning to apply to one of the Sciences Po Master's degrees requiring a minimum level of C1 in French language, a Summer School French Language track transcript may be used in lieu of a formal standardized test. The use of the Summer School transcript is valid only for those students who have successfully validated to the C1 level during their final exams at the Summer School.

ECTS Credit

Sciences Po awards academic credit for courses taken during the Summer School. Students who receive a passing grade of at least 10/20 and respect the Summer School academic rules and regulations receive the following number of credits:

Credit Transfer

Credit transfer for courses taken at the Summer School depend on the policy of students' home institutions. Students are strongly encouraged to contact their study abroad office or academic department in advance to learn more about their credit transfer policy. The Summer School team is happy to advise institutions in their credit determinations and provide documentation if requested.
