As every year, on International Women's Rights Day, March 8, the Observatoire de la RSE organizes a debate on gender equality issues.
This year, given the health situation, this meeting will be held remotely. Meet up to exchange on your experience during the lockdown.
With telecommuting and partial activity, the time spent at home is not the same. What has changed in the home organization, in the distribution of domestic tasks and the sharing of family responsibilities? If there are changes, will they be permanent?
Program :
- Anne Lambert, sociologist, research fellow in charge of the LIST unit - Housing, Spatial Inequalities and Trajectory at the Institut national d'études démographiques (INED), co-author of the "Housing and Living Conditions" survey carried out in partnership with the Coconel consortium, ANR, IRD, and IFOP.
- Anne Boring, economist and associate researcher at the Interdisciplinary Laboratory for the Evaluation of Public Policies (LIEPP) and Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics of Erasmus University Rotterdam. She also heads the first Women in Business Chair of Sciences Po.
- Françoise Milewski, economist at the Observatoire français des conjonctures économiques (OFCE) and President of the Scientific Council of the PRESAGE program, head of the research group "Gender, employment and public policies" (GEPP). She is a member of the CESE (Economic, Social and Environmental Council) and the Higher Council for Professional Equality.

Key note speaker:
- Anne Boring, Assistant Professor at the Erasmus School of Economics, Erasmus University Rotterdam. Head of the Women in Business Chair at Sciences Po, Paris (LIEPP & PRESAGE)
Anne Boring will talk us through her recent research on how COVID-19 lockdowns have exposed a shift towards more traditional beliefs in gender norms, i.e. less equal gender norms. Anne’s results suggest that beliefs in more unequal gender norms seem to be related to increases in economic uncertainty caused by the health crisis. Furthermore, she will discuss gender diversity in firms and more specifically the main diversity policies (gender quotas, mentoring and network programmes, diversity training to change firm culture, and family friendly policies) that have been implemented and their effectiveness, shortcomings, as well as potential future steps that could help guide policy.
