Sorbonne Alliance Workshop : Women and Finance

This one-day workshop hosted by Alliance Sorbonne brings together scholars, practitioners and policymakers to discuss and exchange ideas on the state of women’s empowerment in finance.

Eigth academic presentations and a roundtable will explore the barriers that women face in accessing top positions in finance, including social norms, and discuss existing leverages to make progress toward gender equality. Particular attention will be paid to women empowerment in corporate governance (as directors or executives) and in the mutual fund industry.

The purpose of this workshop is to provide >insight into the challenges and opportunities for enhancing women’s access to top positions in finance, and identifying strategies for promoting women’s economic empowerment.

The director of the Chaire will partake in the rountable on how to improve gender equality in finance.
