Bruno Cousin becomes Holder and Scientific Director of our "Cities, Housing and Real Estate" Chair

Bruno Cousin succeeds Nordine Kireche as head of the Sciences Po Urban School and Centre for European Studies and Comparative Politics (CEE) Chair "Cities, Housing, Real Estate".

He is a renowned sociologist and a pillar of our master in Governing the Large Metropolis as well as of the CEE. He is also a great facilitator of the debates within the Cities are Back in Town programme. His scientific and academic career is remarkable: postdoc at Harvard in the Department of Sociology, then lecturer in Lille, where he directed the master's degree in "Sociology and Anthropology of Urban Issues" for four years, and director of the Sociology of the City and Territories Committee within the French Sociology Association. Today, he is Associate Professor FNSP of Sociology and researcher at the CEE and member of the unit council.

His expertise and commitment will greatly contribute to the Chair's mission to boost training and scientific research on housing and real estate markets. He is currently working on finalising a realistic and ambitious programme on five axes, with a strong focus on the major challenges of climate change and ecological transformations.

Thanks to Nordine Kireche for leading the scientific project of the Chair during its first life cycle. He will remain a fellow in the activities and events of the Chair, which will continue to benefit from his experience and support. Nordine Kireche is also the scientific director of the new Executive Master Strategy and Finance of Sustainable Real Estate which started in November 2022, supported by the Urban School and the Executive Education of Sciences Po.
