Gaetano Di Tommaso received his Ph.D. in history in 2017. His doctoral thesis, completed in cotutelle between Sciences Po Paris and the University of Bologna under the direction of Mario Del Pero, focused on the process of formation of US oil policy at the turn of the twentieth century.
He has been teaching at Sciences Po (Reims campus) as a teaching fellow (2017-2019) and has been awarded the Kluge Fellowship from the Library of Congress in Washington DC, where he spent a period of research in 2020. He is currently a visiting fellow at the Roosevelt Institute for American Studies (RIAS) in the Netherlands.
