Romain Lecler is an associate professor of world politics in the Department of Political Science at the Université du Québec à Montreal since 2018, after 4 years in the Department of Social Sciences at the Ecole Normale Supérieure.

He defended his PHD in political science in 2015. He published Sociologie de la mondialisation (La Découverte) and Une contre-mondialisation audiovisuelle, ou comment la France exporte la diversité culturelle (Sorbonne Université Presses).

After addressing cultural globalization by studying the French audiovisual diplomacy, he became interested in the professional dynamics of globalization through the phenomenon of international trade shows. He is now pursuing his research on globalization by studying the international diffusion of gender norms within diplomacy.
