Alain Dieckhoff is CNRS Research Professor . He holds degrees from Sciences Po and Paris Nanterre (Ph.D. in political sociology).
He teaches courses at Sciences Po, at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He was visiting professor at many universities abroad (Graduate Institute Geneva, UQAM, Tel Aviv University, Hebrew University Jerusalem, LSE...). He is the co-founder of the Observatoire international du religieux.
He is a member of the editorial boards of Politique et sociétés, Questions internationales and Journal of Modern Jewish Studies. He is a member of the Advisory Council of the Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies. He is international fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences of the Royal Society of Canada.
His main field of research is politics and society in Israel. He has also undertaken in-depth researches on the transformations of contemporary nationalism, on populism and on the relationships between politics and religion.
