CERI is part of OXPO, a scientific cooperation and exchange program between Sciences Po and Oxford.
Visiting fellows :
- June 2014: Andrew Hurrell, professor of international relations, working with Karoline Postel-Vinay on emerging powers.
- September 2014 : Hartmut Mayer, IR professor.
- May-June 2015 : Tim Power, university lecturer in Brasilian studies.
On 13th May 2015, Dr Paul Chaisty and Dr Timothy Power visited CERI to present their cross-regional research project on “Coalitional Presidentialism in Comparative Perspective: Dynamics of Executive-Legislative Relations in Africa, Latin America and the Former Soviet Union”. Dr Nic Cheeseman (DPIR) is also a co-PI on the ESRC-funded project. Chaisty and Power discussed the rise of minority presidentialism around the democratic world, and the challenges that presidents face in forming and maintaining stable interparty alliances. The theoretical framing and empirical findings were discussed by Dr Nicolas Sauger (CERI). Timothy Power is currently spending April-May 2015 as an OxPo fellow based at CERI, and Paul Chaisty attended with the generous support of the Oxford-Sciences Po Research Group.
Doctoral students: Tristan Naylor (July-August 2014; works on the G8-G20) and Maziyar Ghiabi (November 2014; works on Iran drug policy).
