Nora Bardelli
Nora Bardelli est chercheure post-doctorante au CERI au sein du projet ANR PIAF La vie politique et sociale des papiers d’identificatio en Afrique, recherche dirigée à Sciences Po par Richard Banégas.
Elle a obtenu son doctorat en Développement international à l’Université de Oxford et son master en anthropologie et sociologie du développement à l’IHEID Genève. Depuis 2013 elle mène des recherches ethnographiques avec des réfugiés maliens vivant au Burkina Faso, d’abord dans un camp près de Ouagadougou et ensuite en milieu urbain à Bobo-Dioulasso, pour comprendre comment les interventions humanitaires s’entremêlent aux contexts dans lesquels elles opèrent, et pourquoi elles peuvent créer ou renforcer des inégalités entre les réfugiés.
Ses recherches actuelles s'intéressent particulièrement à l'utilisation des technologies biométriques pour enregistrer les réfugiés.
Nora Bardelli is a postdoctoral researcher at CERI within the ANR PIAF project 'The social life of identity documents in Africa' under the guidance of Prof Richard Banégas.
She has a DPhil (PhD) in International Development from the University of Oxford, and a M.A. in Anthropology and Sociology of Development from the Graduate Institute Geneva. She has been carrying out ethnographic research with Malian refugees living in Burkina Faso since 2013, at first in a refugee camp close to the capital Ouagadougou and then in the urban context of Bobo-Dioulasso. The aim of her research was and is to understand how humanitarian interventions are intertwined with the contexts in which they take place, and in so doing can increase inequalities and hierarchies among refugees. Her current interest lies in the use of biometric technologies to register and track refugees.
