Climate change and the emergence of new socio-environmental risks: a social policy perspective

Workshop August 24th-25th, Sciences Po Paris; 1 place Saint Thomas d'Aquin (room K.011)

Organizing team:
Anne-Laure Beaussier (CNRS researcher, Center for Sociology of Organisations, Sciences Po)
Lydie Cabane (Assistant professor, Institute for Security and Global Affair, Leiden University)
Katharina Zimmermann (Assistant professor, Hamburg University, department of Socio economy)

The workshop will be organized around two main formats

Research presentations:

Participants will present ongoing work and research interests (20-30 minutes presentations) – in relation with the theme of each session. While sending a draft paper in advance of the workshop would be a good thing, this is not an absolute requirement

Thematic roundtables following the presentations, during which the lead person introduces the discussions with some of his thoughts on the theme of the panel and reactions to the session presentations. On this basis, every presenter gets a chance to reply before a general discussion.

A wrap-up discussion at the end of the three sessions will point to the questions and themes of interests of the workshop participants, to discuss common grounds as well as potential for future collaborative research to deepen our understanding of socio-environmental risks.
