The History Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison has opened a search for two Assistant Professor (tenure-track) positions in the history of Modern France and the history of the Russian Empire with appointments to begin August of 2023.
Modern France (19th or 20th Century): Thematic fields open. The successful applicant will have a PhD in History or equivalent (by the start date of the appointment) and will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Modern European history and to work closely with the Center for European Studies.
Russian Empire, including its constituent lands and peoples (18th or 19th Century): Research interests may be in any region or thematic field. The successful applicant will have a PhD in History or equivalent (by the start date of the appointment) and will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses on the Russian Empire and to work closely with the Center for Russia, East Europe and Central Asia (CREECA).
