Bio :

Bastian Betthäuser is an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Research on Social Inequalities (CRIS), Sciences Po, Paris. His research focuses on social inequality, how social (dis)advantage accumulates over peoples’ lives, and how it is transmitted across generations. More specifically, he investigates (1) How peoples’ socio-economic background shapes their early-childhood development, education, labor market position and broader life chances; (2) Which processes mediate the effects of peoples’ social background on their lives; and (3) Whether and how policies can limit the extent to which peoples’ life chances depend on their socio-economic background.
