Tamàs KELLER

Bio :

Tamás Keller earned his Ph.D. in sociology from Corvinus University of Budapest in 2010. As an Alexander von Humboldt post-doctoral researcher, he initially worked at the Free University Berlin within the chair of Public Economics, followed by a research stay at WZB Berlin Social Science Center. Returning to Hungary, he became a junior core fellow at the Central European University’s Institute for Advanced Study. Currently, he is a senior researcher at the HUN-REN Centre for Social Sciences in Budapest, Hungary (TK), and he is affiliated with the Institute of Economics at the HUN-REN Centre for Economic and Regional Studies (KRTK). His research explores the drivers of educational inequality, encompassing parental background, peer effects, and the role of non-cognitive skills. He leads and coordinates several large-scale, pre-registered, randomized field experiments to explore the causal effects of these drivers on inequality in educational attainment and achievement. His recent research has been published in established journals in the fields of sociology, economics, and educational sciences, including the American Journal of Sociology, Sociological Science, European Societies, European Sociological Review, Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics, and International Journal of Educational Research.
