This autumn, the CSO is delighted to welcome two new guests.

Marlyne Sahakian is an associate professor of sociology at the University of Geneva, specialising in consumption from a sustainability perspective. Her research focuses on the link between resource management, everyday social practices and social equity, with the sociology of consumption as her main approach. During her sabbatical year, she will be working at the CSO from September to June 2025 with Sophie Dubuisson-Quellier.

Léonie Buschkamp is a doctoral student at Leibniz Universität Hannover. She is taking part in a large-scale research programme (Sonderforschungsbereich) on competition in higher education, led by Georg Krücken. As part of this programme, she is working on a dissertation project on the way in which universities position themselves as competitors and develop cooperation with each other. Hosted by Christine Musselin, Léonie Buschkamp is staying at the CSO for a month from mid-September.

Christal Kihm is a French doctoral student at the London School of Economics and Political Science, working on a thesis on the participation of migrant women in trade unions in France, at the intersection of issues of organisation, mobilisation, the use of labour law and gender. A guest of Jérôme Pélisse and Emilie Biland-Curinier, she will be visiting the CSO from mid-September to the end of June 2024.
