Bio :
Carlo Barone est chercheur au Centre de recherche sur les inégalités sociales (CRIS) et professeur de sociologie à Sciences Po. Entre 2008 et 2015, il a été maître de conférences puis professeur associé au Département de sociologie et de recherche sociale à l'Université de Trento. Ses recherches portent sur les inégalités sociales en matière d’éducation (rôle du contexte familial, du sexe et de l’appartenance ethnique), le rôle de l’éducation pour la mobilité sociale dans une perspective dynamique comparative et enfin, la reconnaissance des classifications scolaires et professionnelles. Au sein du LIEPP, il conduit des expérimentations dans le domaine des politiques éducatives et des évaluations de l’impact des politiques. Carlo Barone est membre du conseil scientifique du Commité de Recherche 28 sur la stratification sociale et mobilité au sein de l'Association Internationale de Sociologie. Il est rapporteur régulier pour plusieurs revues académiques: European Sociological Review, Research in Social Stratification and Mobility, Sociology of Education, Rassegna Italiana di Sociologia.
